Big Sister show postponed to mid-September


Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zed Zee Multi-Media, Zainab Sheriff, disclosed to pressmen that the staging of the Big Sister Salone 2018 show has been postponed to Mid September instead of 11th August as previously planned.
“We were supposed to start on 11th August, but our sponsor Africell later came to us that they needed 20 days to do the branding and to fix up the house,” she said weeks ago during a press briefing at the Africa Young Voices Television (AYV) conference room at Tower Hill in Freetown.

She added that they wouldn’t want to make mistakes in the maiden edition of the show.  She said they would organize a sendoff party for each of the evicted participants and that already they have started showing the audition and profile video of each of the contestants on AYV TV.
The Reality TV initiator and Africell Ambassador further said entertainment has changed her life, and that Sierra Leoneans were anxious to watch the show.
Speaking for AYV, Samuel Wise Bangura said the show marks the beginning of a project that would see Sierra Leone where everybody wants to see the country in the near future.
He said the show would serve as branding tool for their institution and that as a medium they are contributing to women’s empowerment in the country.
Nancy L. Joseph, Head of Media Relations at Africell Mobile Company, gave assurance as to her institution’s support to the show.
‘’Big sister Sierra Leone is here and we are pretty excited to serve as proud sponsors of this brilliant and innovative project,” she said.
She noted that subscribers can send short code – 3222 – that would cost Le500 to vote their choice participants.
Alex Nallo Junior of Zed Zee also said the show would change the narrative of women in the country.
“It’s more of a social benefit. We are tired of seeing foreign entertainers. It’s time to showcase our own,‘’ he said.
The Big Sister Show is sponsored by Africell, AYV Media and ITV.
The Star prize would be Le10 million while each contestant will receive Le100,000 daily while in the house.
